you don’t need to SING LOUD to be a good singer. look at miriah carey, she just whispers in all her songs.
And, probably 3 months if you train well. just listen to songs and mimic their range. You can’t over make your voice range…just stick with what cha got, like Toni Braxton. holler
The same thing happens to me when i sing loud with higher notes, i think it may just be that voices develop to a point that can’t be strong at higher tones. sorry i don’t really have a good answer, just a guess.
Volume is proportional to the amount of air that you blow. You need to learn proper breathing, get more air into your middle, and force it through your throat with greater control.
Join the choir. The choirmaster will coach you.
maybe you need to make everything you sing in a lower key so that your voice is lower and what you sing comes from deeper so when you hit the high notes they are still within your range… if you sing low and then go high the change is still the same as if you go from high to higher example …. going from 3 to 7 is moving 4 places right … and going from 6 to 10 is STiLL 4 places but you start higher and end higher in 6-10 but start lower and end lower in 3-7… your voice has a 1- 8 ranger but you are trying to make it go to the 1-10 range… i don;t know if that made sense if it did yea!!!
but seriously if you are an alto you sing the low notes …s oprano you can sing high … mezzo you sing a mix of them…find your pitch and range and your good… you can;t change your voice to be soprano with out YEARS of trying but you can NOT pressure yor voice into a range you can;t match!
Join the choir. The choir master will check your range and see what your vocal range encompasses. Maybe you don’t have a soporano range. That could explain a lot. You should practice breathing. If you lie on your bed and breath in and out, observe what parts of your body are moving and in what direction. You’ll notice your stomach, not your chest, moving. That’s what you need when you sing. Support from the diaphram. You shouldn’t move your shoulders when you breath. Breath support could explain a lot of your troubles. And yes, practice in church will help you improve your voice.
First of all, you need to learn to increase your resonance. You will sound louder without the effort. Secondly, you may may sing aspirated. That means you are blowing out too much air around your vocal chords. You need to learn to focus your pitch. Also, the higher you sing, the less pressure you need or you will damage your voice.
These will help.
Purse your lips together and blow, sort of like a kid making motorboat noises (pppp) while making a tone in your throat. When you can do this well, go up and down the scale while doing it, then “sing” your song this way.
Say the word “sing” then hold the “ng” position. Then, hum in that position. Scales, siren sounds, the melody of a song, etc.
Remember that the strength of your voice is not in your throat- it’s in your stomach! Good singers push air out of their diaphragm, not their throat. This is especially important if you find your voice is weak. Practice putting your hands on your stomach when you sing. Feel your diaphragm opening as you push air up your throat. The duration and volume you can carry a note depends on your stomach. Strengthening your core is very important as a singer. Crunches are your friend.
Also, you have a natural God-given vocal range. Once you practice this proper breathing (spend at least a half hour a day singing this way) you will strengthen your technique. If you are trying to sing really high and it hurts or cracks, you are probably singing out of your natural range. Anytime you find yourself trying to “force” a note out, put your hands back on your stomach and breathe. You may be an alto range. Alto’s have beautiful voices and a gorgeous range.
depends on how old you are… i’m 15 and my voice still craks on the high notes when i’m singing “loud” i’ve been waiting for 3 years for it to improve.. but what i can tell you is that it will gradually improve.. i’ve noticed i huge difference over the years but i know it can still improve
