Pro-life conservatives?

Anthony M asked:

I’m pro-life, and a conservative. However, as of late, I do not believe a sing word that comes out of a politicians mouth. For roughly six years of Bush’s presidency, he had a congress that was majority republican. (Obviously that changed in the mid-term elections). Didn’t it ever occur to you that even though the republicans claim to be pro-life, they never tried to overturn Roe v. Wade? All it would have taken was a simple majority, which they had, and and the President’s signature, which he’s is supposed to be pro-life so they should have had that too. Why did this never happen?

I’m don’t believe the federal government should outlaw abortion. I think it should be left up to the states to make that decision.
First of all, there are ways of getting around the court. Second, the court has to much power to legislate from the bench. Third, life starts at conception!

Well while they might have tried it would have taken 60 votes and it still would have had to stand up to the supreme court.

Excellent point to make. I am not a genius, but I have never thought of that. That would be an excellent question to ask at the next Republican presidential debate !

My thoughts exactly. Republicans had the votes to over-turn it and nothing was done.

Same as illegal immigration. Instead of slowing it in any fashion, they tried ramming open border policies down our throats.

I like Bush and I like what he stands for but these are two issues that I am bewlidered by.

Ron Paul is pro life and he believes that it should be left up to the states and the goverment should not fund it. Go to ronpaul2008.com and watch the interview you will find him very sincere and very intelligent. He knows what he is talking about. He is also for limited goverment. This is an AWESOME video

George Bush does not have a conservative bone in his body. He is just a puppet for corporations.
