i heard that tomrow 1/21/07 a company called pro scout is going to be in new haven and they are having an interview and what not for young people with talent for ex singing, acting, modeling etc.. does anyone know about this ?

    I went to one of those. It is a waste of time. I got chosen to go to one of their conventions, but decided not to go bc they wanted almost $700 just to attend! If you want to model or act, find an agent, go visit them or send in pictures. You shouldnt have to pay ANY money just to get looked at. If they ask for any money up front… IT IS A SCAM.

    My friend went to one of those. She just ended up wasting a lot of money and not getting anything out of it. I would not reccomend going.

    It is a huge cattle call which disappoints the non gifted, but offers a long shot for a few who seem to have talent.

    yeah i went to 1 that same day at the sheraton in springfield,ma and it was pretty impressive…good speech..seemed to be high qualified and impressive success stories. i was given a callback and an invitation to the boston event..now i’m debating wether or not to go..with all this talk of it being a scam and the charge $795 to attend the event plus $65 for each guest you want to bring plus the hotel accomodations…i’m starting to doubt that its all worth it

    Its not a scam because its not an agency. If you ever have an agency charge you money it is a scam. But Pro scout is not, they charge you a fee to give you a change to perform in front of 100+ agencies for a fee and get call backs. if you have any questions plz ask I woud be more than happy to help

    Bring nothing…I have done it…its easy… you dont even have to have a monolouge prepared… I brought my head shot and resume just to show that I was a committed individual. But all they do is sit you down and show you a video about what they are about. Then they line you up and look at you and ask you questions and if they like your image they will give you something (when I went it was a card from a card deck) and that will seperate who they choose from who they dont choose. Then they will send everyone that wasnt pick out the room and give the chosen few information about the trip.
