Pro Actors & Actress Please Look @ This! School Play Help?

My school is doing Wizard of Oz and I am planning to audition but I really want to be Dorothy.Do you have any tips on my audition?
Here is something,On the last play I did, i had the most solo’s in singing but less dialouge. Does this mean I have to work on actual acting?
I also have a kareoke system called LEADSINGER and you sing a song and it grades you.It has “Over The Rainbow” on it.Shold I Use it?
PLEASE HELP!

    yawn! Everyone wants to be Dorothy. So do over the rainbow better than anyone else. Also do everything with energy and enthusiasm without over doing it. show you enjoy being on stage when you audition.

    don’t trust a karaoke system to be a good judgement on your singing ability

    Don’t use “Over the Rainbow” as your audition song (unless, of course, they have requested it). You want to be unique.

    And yes, to be an actor you have to work on “actual acting.”
